Mark Shrives is a seasoned public sector leader with over 40 years of experience in federal, local, and international government roles. He most recently served as Interim City Manager for
Columbia Falls, Montana, providing executive leadership and oversight of municipal operations, budgeting, and strategic initiatives. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the hiring of the
next Columbia Falls City Manager.
His career includes City Manager roles in Polson, MT; Creswell, OR; and Hamilton, MT, where he led city departments and guided policy development and implementation. Mark also served
with FEMA as a Federal Disaster Recovery Officer, managing disaster recovery operations and supporting local governments in accessing and utilizing federal assistance.
Internationally, Mark represented the U.S. State Department as an advisor to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), coordinating regional peacekeeping efforts and
intergovernmental collaboration.
A retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, he concluded a distinguished 20-year military career with command responsibilities across Europe and leadership in complex logistics and infrastructure operations.
