Shawn Myatt Selected as Pampa’s Next Chief of Police

Veteran Texas Police Executive Brings Decades of Municipal Leadership Experience to Pampa

Clear Career Professionals is proud to congratulate Shawn Myatt on his selection as the next Chief of Police for the City of Pampa, Texas.

Myatt will officially assume his new role on October 1, 2026, bringing extensive law enforcement and municipal leadership experience to the Pampa Police Department.

Myatt currently serves as Chief of Police for the City of Bellmead, Texas, where he has led the department since July 2022. Prior to Bellmead, he served the City of Navasota as Chief of Police and later simultaneously served as Chief of Police and Assistant City Manager.

Throughout his career, Myatt has held a number of senior leadership positions in Texas municipalities, including Police Chief, Public Safety Director, and Assistant City Manager. That broad experience has given him a perspective that extends beyond police operations and into the larger responsibilities of municipal leadership.

Myatt holds a Master Peace Officer certification through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice. He is also a member of the Texas Police Chiefs Association and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Throughout Pampa’s recruitment process, Myatt demonstrated a strong understanding of both law enforcement leadership and municipal government. His emphasis on developing employees, strengthening relationships, promoting accountability, and providing high-quality service aligned well with the leadership qualities the City was seeking in its next Police Chief.

Clear Career Professionals extends warm congratulations to Chief Myatt and his family as they prepare for this next chapter, and we congratulate the City of Pampa and the men and women of the Pampa Police Department on the selection of their next leader.

We also want to sincerely thank every candidate who participated in the recruitment process. Executive recruitment requires a significant investment of time, preparation, and consideration, and Pampa attracted a strong group of law enforcement professionals interested in serving the community. We appreciate each candidate who shared their experience, leadership philosophy, and vision with the City and with our team.

We are especially grateful to City Manager Shane Stokes and Assistant City Manager Dustin Miller for the time, thought, and partnership they invested throughout the search. Their involvement from start to finish helped ensure the recruitment remained focused on finding the right leader for the organization and the community.

We also thank Mayor Mike Borger and the Pampa City Commission for entrusting Clear Career Professionals with this important recruitment. Selecting a Police Chief is one of the most consequential leadership decisions a community can make, and we appreciate the confidence placed in our team to assist Pampa with that responsibility.

Clear Career Professionals also recognizes Interim Police Chief Brian Massey for his leadership of the department throughout this transition. Massey stepped into the interim role during an important period for the organization and has continued providing stability and leadership while the City completed its search for a permanent Chief.

We have greatly enjoyed working with the City of Pampa throughout this recruitment and appreciate the opportunity to play a role in this important decision.

Congratulations to Chief Shawn Myatt, the City of Pampa, and the Pampa Police Department.
