Clear Career Professionals is proud to partner with Messer Fort, PLLC on the recruitment of four attorneys who will help support the continued growth of one of Texas’ leading municipal law firms.
Messer Fort is built specifically for cities. The firm represents more than 100 Texas cities and political subdivisions, with approximately 30 attorneys working from offices in Frisco, Austin, and Abilene. As the communities it represents continue to grow, the firm is growing with them.
All four positions are newly created to support this expansion.
Four Distinct Opportunities
Three positions will be based in Messer Fort’s Frisco office:
Senior City Attorney
An experienced municipal attorney will take a leading role in the firm’s growing development finance practice, including public improvement districts, tax increment reinvestment zones, Chapter 380 agreements, developer negotiations, and general city attorney work.
Attorney, Land Use Focus
This opportunity is designed for a Texas attorney with substantial experience in land use, zoning, platting, development agreements, vested rights, and the legal issues facing rapidly growing communities.
Eminent Domain & Chapter 54 Litigator
Messer Fort is seeking an experienced litigator to manage condemnation matters from pre-suit acquisition through special commissioners’ hearings and trial, while also handling Chapter 54 municipal enforcement litigation. Experience representing either condemning authorities or landowners may translate well to the role.
The fourth opportunity will be based in Abilene:
Municipal Prosecutor & City Attorney
This position offers meaningful responsibility and variety. The attorney will prosecute municipal cases while also advising city clients, drafting ordinances and contracts, addressing open government matters, and attending meetings throughout the region.
