Clear Career Professionals congratulates Reneé Waggoner on her appointment as the City Manager for the City of Denison, Texas.
Clear was proud to partner with the Denison City Council on the nationwide recruitment for its next City Manager. The search launched in May 2026 and drew 50 candidates from across the country, giving the Council a strong field of experienced municipal leaders to consider.
Following the comprehensive recruitment and selection process, the Council selected Waggoner, who brings nearly 25 years of service to the City of Denison.
Waggoner joined the City in 2002 and has served in a number of increasingly responsible roles, including Utility Account Manager, Internal Auditor, Accounting Supervisor, Assistant Director of Finance, Director of Finance, Director of Finance and Administrative Services, Executive Director of Finance and Administrative Services, and Assistant City Manager. She was named Interim City Manager in May 2026.
Her appointment reflects both the depth of the candidate pool developed through the search and the significant experience and institutional knowledge she brings to the organization.
